WOR VS GLO PREDICTION
Gloucestershire To Win the Match, 2.10
Gloucestershire bats deep and that can so often be the difference between a win and a loss in the shortest format of the game
With Pat Brown, Moeen Ali, and Wayne Parnell unavailable, Worcestershire's bowling looks a tad vulnerable
Given the performances of the two sides in their first respective matches, Gloucs' appears to be better equipped to handle spin bowlers on slow surfaces

WOR VS GLO MATCH PREDICTION & ANALYSIS
Vitality T20 Blast has got off to a rather strange start. We are into only the third day of the competition and apart from the inclement weather conditions, we have seen some strange results. Gloucestershire and Worcestershire both had a superb tournament last year, but their start this year hasn't been great. However, they both will want to get back to the winning ways as quickly as possible. Both will have an opportunity to do so in the upcoming match of the competition, when Gloucestershire takes on Worcestershire at New Road, Worcester, on 31st August 2020.
TEAM PREVIEWS
WORCESTERSHIRE
Against the run of play, the team that qualified for the last year was just defeated by the team that finished at the bottom of the table. Well! such is the nature of the game and more so the format. Gloucestershire is a superb team on paper and was expected to get to a solid start. It was not to be. Without Michael Klinger and Andrew Tye, Gloucs looked like a mere shadow of itself as it suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Glamorgan. Although these are early days in the tournament, Gloucestershire dropped to the third spot on the points table and will be looking for a win to strengthen its position in the group.
Bowling first on a slow surface, Gloucestershire got off to a reasonably good start. Gloucs' bowlers got rid of both Dan Douthwaite and Andrew Balbirnie inside the first six overs as Matt Taylor and Ryan Higgins picked up a wicket each. Just when Glamorgan was looking to get back into the game, Graeme van Buuren helped the team with a much-needed breakthrough, of Billy Root. Gloucestershire kept picking wickets at regular intervals and was eventually able to keep Glamorgan down to a total of 150. It was a total that should have been chased down easily. Ryan Higgins was the top bowler for Gloucs as he returned with the figures of 4-0-29-3.
However, Gloucestershire's batsmen never look at ease against an inspired Glamorgan bowling attack. Miles Hammond, Chris Dent, and Ian Cockbain were back to the pavilion even before the completion of the first powerplay. Gloucs' batsmen tried to stage a comeback after the end of the powerplay, but with required-rate creeping up exponentially, it proved to be too difficult a job for the likes of George Scott and Graeme van Buuren. Van Buuren played a fantastic knock of 53 off just 27 deliveries. He was ably supported by George Scott, who contributed with 33 off 24. Once Scott was dismissed, Gloucs' downfall resumed as it eventually finished with just 135 runs on the board.
While a couple of points on the board would have been fantastic, Gloucs' wouldn't be worrying too much about the loss - yet. With lower-order contributing with the bat and bowling doing exceptionally well, Gloucestershire had a few positives to draw as well. Going forward against Worcestershire, Gloucs would want to build on the positives and work on the bottlenecks it faced against Glamorgan. If it manages to fix the bottlenecks quickly, Gloucs won't be an easy side to deal with.
GLOUCESTERSHIRE
Worcestershire Rapids is arguably the most consistent side across the last two seasons and a loss in its first match certainly raised some eyebrows. It was not the loss that will concern the fans and the management but the manner, in which it came. Against a relatively lower-seeded side, Worcestershire Rapids failed in all three departments of the game. With a massive loss, the Rapids now have a net run-rate of -2.24, which they'd like to improve on pretty quickly.
Just like Gloucestershire, Worcestershire batsmen too found it difficult to come to terms with a slowish surface as they crawled their way to 124. Scoring against the spinners proved to be a colossal task for the Rapids as Northants used four spinners to strangle the Rapids in the middle overs. Apart from the debutant Jack Haynes, none of the Rapids' batsmen looked comfortable in the middle. With a 41-run knock, he stitched a brilliant partnership with Jake Libby, who scored 24. However, once Haynes was dismissed, it all started falling apart for Worcestershire as it collapsed from 71 for 2 to 124 for 7.
Without the presence of Pat Brown, Moeen Ali, and Wayne Parnell, Worcestershire Rapids' bowling never looked threatening. Northants' batting made merry on a surface that the Rapids found difficult to score on. Barring Brett D'Oliveira, all the Rapids' bowlers proved expensive as Northamptonshire Steelbacks chased the total down with more than four overs to spare and nine wickets in hand. Brett D' Oliveira returned without any success but bowled a miserly spell of 3-0-18-0. Pennington was the sole wicket-taker, but he conceded 32 runs in his four overs.
Overall, there were quite a number of things that Rapids will want to improve on going forward in the tournament. Their batting didn't look equipped at all to accelerate against the spinners on a slow surface. Besides, the absence of Pat Brown, Wayne Parnell, and Moeen Ali was clearly felt. With the likes of Hamish Rutherford, Riki Wessels, and Ben Cox, they certainly have the experience to put this loss behind them and get back to the winning ways.
WOR VS GLO TOSS PREDICTION
In the first match, the surface played considerably better in the second innings than it did in the first. With rain unlikely to have an impact and the surface likely to get harder, we expect the same to happen again. The surface, which is expected to be sticky in the first few overs, is likely to become a batting paradise as the match goes on. Winning the toss and fielding first should be the way to go here.
PITCH AND CONDITIONS
The surface at New Road in the first match was far from what it generally is. With weather likely to stay cool and rain likely to stay away, we expect the surface to get a bit harder. Batting will become a bit easier as the sun shines bright and the team batting first will have to keep that into consideration. Given the weather and conditions, the team batting first should be looking to put a total of at least 160 runs on the board.

WOR VS GLO BETTING TIPS
There was a tinge of similarity between the way the two teams played in the first match. Both sides failed to pick the spinners and their pace as they both fell short of the total they wanted to score. As we expect the surface to be similar, playing against the spinners will be a key in the upcoming encounter. With most of its regular players absent, Worcestershire Rapids would have to play out of their skins to challenge Gloucestershire. Considering the two teams on paper and the overall performance in their respective matches, we'd pick Gloucestershire as the team to place our bets on.
