DC vs RR Prediction & Betting Tips, IPL 2020

Delhi Capitals will bid to return to the top of the 2020 Indian Premier League table when they take on Rajasthan Royals. The match, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, takes place on October 14 and the live action starts at 19:30 local time.

Delhi have won five of their seven matches so far, including a dominant 46-run victory when they last met Rajasthan last week. They come into this match on the back of a five-wicket loss to Mumbai Indians, however, who leapfrogged them at the top with that result.

Rajasthan Royals lost four matches in a row up to and including that defeat to Delhi. They come into this game after finally getting back to winning ways, however, with more good bowling form Jofra Archer setting up a five-wicket win against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

DC vs RR Toss Prediction

Delhi were asked to bat first last time these teams met and may choose to this time.

Weather Report

Dubai will be clear, hot and dry as usual.

Pitch Condition

The Dubai wicket favours batting, although it did offer something more to the bowlers than the other wickets in this tournament.

DC Team News

Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer were absent last time out, with Alex Carey behind the stumps and Ajinkya Rahane into the starting line-up. Ishant Sharma has been ruled out due to injury, Harshal Patel has been expensive with the ball but may still get his place in the playing 11 due to absence of Ishant Sharma.

DC Key Players

Shikhar Dhawan: Scored just five when these teams last met, but his unbeaten 69 last time out was his first half-century and he mark he is getting back to his best.

Kagiso Rabada: Took three wickets when these teams last met and he now has 17 wickets in seven matches so far in this season’s tournament.

Marcus Stoinis: Hit 39 in the last match against the Royals, and he now has 105 runs and three wickets in his last three matches.

 DC Team Form

Delhi have won five of their seven matches so far. Their most recent win was against Rajasthan Royals but their three-game winning streak ended last time out with defeat to Mumbai Indians. Kagiso Rabada’s wicket-taking form continued but Delhi’s 162/4 was not enough. Shikhar Dhawan hit 69* from 52 balls but Mumbai chased it down with two balls and five wickets to spare.

Delhi Capitals Predicted Playing 11

Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer (c), Ajinkya Rahane, Marcus Stoinis, Alex Carey (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Anrich Nortje, Kagiso Rabada, Harshal Patel

RR Team News

Ben Stokes returned to the team last time out, with England team-mate Tom Curran missing out. Stokes opened the batting with Jos Buttler last time out and the England pair could be at the top of the order again this time.

RR Key Players

Jos Buttler: Not really followed up his 70 against Mumbai Indians but the big-hitting England wicket-keeper-batsman is key at the top of the order.

Jofra Archer: Starred with the ball last time these two teams met, taking 3-24 last time out, and he now has nine wickets in seven matches in IPL 2020.

Ben Stokes: The England all-rounder was in fine form until personal reasons saw him return home to New Zealand. If he can get back to his best, however, he will dominate with bat and ball.

RR Team Form

Rajasthan Royals lost for matches in a row despite starting with two wins. They got back to winning ways last time out, however. They restricted Sunrisers Hyderabad to 158/4 before an unbroken 85-run partnership between Riyan Parag (42*) and Rahul Tewatia (45*) led Rajasthan to a five-wicket win with one ball to spare.

Delhi Capitals vs Rajasthan Royals Prediction

Delhi Capitals were dominant when these teams last met and, while Rajasthan Royals got back to winning ways last time out, the Capitals are favourites for this one.

DC vs RR Dream11 Prediction

Wicket-keeper(s):

Jos Buttler is key at the top of the order for Rajasthan Royals and can be picked up for ten credits. He still looks worth the outlay, however, especially if he hits the form he showed against Mumbai.

Batsmen:

Shreyas Iyer and Steve Smith are both 9.5 credits but both have proved in recent years just how key they can be for their respective teams. Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw are both nine credits and both have showed some form at the top of the batting order for Delhi Capitals. Riyan Parag is eight credits but his batting was key to Rajasthan’s win last time out and balances the outlay on the other players.

All-rounder(s):

Marcus Stoinis has 398 points so far and is nine credits, while Rahul Tewatia has 427 points. The two are well worth picking and good value. Ben Stokes is 9.5 credits but, as he makes his return, he is yet to show his match-winning form.

Bowlers:

Kagiso Rabada is in stunning bowling form and costs 9.5 credits, which is excellent value for his wicket-taking form. Jofra Archer is in excellent form for Rajasthan, meanwhile, and Ravichandran Ashwin is the same cost – nine credits – and back in the Delhi team.

Captain/vice-captain:

Kagiso Rabada’s wicket-taking form makes him a must-pick as captain. He has 17 wickets in seven games and can rack up some more points in this match. Jofra Archer has hit some good bowling form too and could be worth considering, but Rahul Tewatia is an all-rounder and could be a safer pick.
